We’ve told you what title insurance is, but how much is it going to cost? Well, in the State of Florida, which has a set rate that all title insurance companies charge, it depends on how much your home costs.
$0 – $100,000 = $5.75 / $1,000
$100,000 – $1 Million = $5.00 / $1,000
$1 Million – $5 Million = $2.50 / $1,000
$5 Million – $10 Million = $2.25 / $1,000
$10 Million + = $2.00 / $1,000
Also, who purchases the title insurance?
The State of Florida is a bit different from other places. Here it entirely depends on what county you’re in. Here are just a few that are relatively close to one another:
Miami-Dade, Broward, and Collier counties are all counties in which the buyer is the one who purchases the title insurance.
Monroe County depends on where in the county you buy.
In West Palm Beach and Hendry Counties, the title insurance is purchased by the seller.
